Was zum lachen zwischen den Jahren
Wünsche schöne Weihnachten gehabt zu haben und einen guten Rutsch ins neue Jahr. Wer von euch mir sagen kann, woher der Wunsch "guten Rutsch" kommt, bekommt eine Postkarte aus Adelboden (=Winterfreizeit).
Auflösung folgt im neuen Jahr.

Im deutschsprachigen Raum wird der Gute Rutsch oft von Schneematsch und Glatteis begleitet, aber damit hat der Wunsch eigentlich nichts zu tun, und auch die Assoziation mit dem Hineingleiten ins nächste Jahr (Einen guten Rutsch ins neue Jahr!) ist nur eine Volksetymologie. Rutsch geht eigentlich über das jiddische/rotwelsche rosch auf das hebräische rosh zurück, was Kopf oder Anfang heißt. Man wünscht einander also schlicht einen guten (Jahres-)Anfang. |

Ani / Website (30.12.07 02:21) stimmt soweit. was ich noch "weis" wäre das hier: Nach traditioneller Vorstellung wird am Rosh ha-Shana (wörtlich: „Beginn des Jahres“) das Buch des Lebens aufgeschlagen und ein Urteil über den Lebenswandel der Menschen geschrieben. Die folgenden zehn Tage dienen der tätigen Reue, Versöhnung und Umkehr. Streitigkeiten und Unfrieden sollen beseitigt, schlechte Gedanken sollen bereut werden. =) |
